Everything about Dan Regan totally explained
Dan Regan (born
May 1,
1977) also known as, "
The Culprit" or "
The Hippie" is the
trombone player for the
Southern California-based
ska punk band
Reel Big Fish. It was a spark to his success, when he and another fellow trombone player took the stage, with two other trumpet players. Regan also plays trombone in
The Littlest Man Band with
Scott Klopfenstein (of Reel Big Fish) and has a hip-hop side project under the alias
Black Casper
.
He is accredited with all of Reel Big Fish's blood-curdling screams on their live album/DVD set,
Our Live Album is Better Than Your Live Album.
It was stated on the DVD for
Our Live Album Is Better Than Your Live Album that Dan frequently changes his hair-style to make him look like the new guy in the band, which is an in-joke with the fans because the band has gone through numerous line-up changes. In reality, Dan is the only horn player to have appeared on every one of the band's albums. Moreover, he's the only original member of the band aside from Aaron Barrett to still be a member, following the departure of Matt Wong.
He also played trombone in the song "That's Your Horoscope For Today" by
"Weird Al" Yankovic.
Despite his age and wealth, Dan Regan to this day still doesn't have a driver's license.
He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Dan revealed at a show in Providence, Rhode Island that he was, "born and raised there from age 0 to six months" in Providence.
Dan plays the MMORPG
City of Heroes, along with former bassist
Matt Wong.
Dan is also able to perform
circular breathing, a technique in which the player breathes in and out at the same time, giving him the ability to continue a note for extended amounts of time without breaking the note.
